A driver was cited after a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Smithville Highway on Friday evening, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol preliminary crash report.
Kevin M. Ahlgard Jr., 20, was traveling north on Highway 56 in a 2006 Toyota Corolla. He collided with the rear end of a 2008 Ford F150 driven by Timothy H. Snipes, 54, who had stopped in the northbound lane of Highway 56 waiting to turn left into a residential driveway.
The collision caused disabling damage to Ahlgard’s vehicle. He was charged with failure to exercise due care and failure to wear a seatbelt.
The report stated that Ahlgard was injured in the collision, while Snipes was not.
