Warren County Board of Education has been recognized by the Tennessee School Board Association.
“It is my privilege to be here tonight to present you with the TSBA Board of Distinction Award,” stated TSBA Upper Cumberland District Director Kim Cravens, during Thursday night’s session. “This award is one of TSBA’s most prestigious awards, and I commend the board for meeting the requirements in four key areas and that’s demonstrating excellence in planning, policy, promotion and board development.”
This is a two-year distinction that acknowledges boards which have gone “above and beyond” in governance, leadership, and advocacy, while advancing student success. The award is collective – it recognizes the entire governing body as a team, not individual members.
“As you know the requirements are extensive and not every board qualifies as a board of distinction. As a matter of fact, I’ve only presented it in my district, which includes 13 counties, twice, just Putnam and Warren counties. It’s definitely a great honor that you are achieving,” stated Cravens. “So, on behalf of the Tennessee School Board Association, I’m proud to present the Board of Distinction Award to Warren County Board of Education, and I congratulate you.”
The award was bestowed on the former Warren County Board of Education members.
